Product and Engineering Careers at Pion

Product and Engineering teams are at the heart of our business, connecting our users to the world’s biggest brands.

Pion is one of the UK’s fastest growing technology companies, as named by The Sunday Times Tech Track 2019 and 2020. We are a team of c300 employees (with over 70 in Product and Engineering).

Our Engineering team is the powerhouse that turns our ideas and visions into tangible results that wow! So whether you’re a Ruby wizz, a Javascript pro, or an AWS master, our engineering team is a safe space to push your technical knowledge and to try new things.

Working alongside our Engineering team is our Product vertical; the glue that binds our cross functional teams here at Pion, working with our designers and development team to deliver a world class product. Our Product Managers are masters of using data to drive change and implement strategy across our teams, which will enhance the user experience.

How we work

Here at Pion, we have everything in-house including front-end, back-end, platform, QA, testing and data, giving us the capacity to work in highly compatible cross-functional teams in an agile environment. So, what does this mean? Essentially we break up our Engineering and Product departments into smaller teams, giving them the autonomy to work in whatever way allows them to deliver the best results for our users.

We don’t believe in micromanaging, or office politics, and we empower our employees to voice their opinions and make decisions. Agile allows us to work smarter.

We look for individuals who will uphold the values of our business, who aren’t adverse to suggesting new ideas, trialling and testing outside the box thinking, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. We look for individuals who value collaboration and teamwork, and aren’t scared to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in.
